Reel in the Savings!
Last summer our lawn mower died, which wasn’t that great of a loss since it was a freebie we rescued from the side of the road (one man’s junk and all that jazz!). Naturally, rather than running out and buying the first mower we saw, we did our research and made a plan. When all was said and done we opted for a reel-style mower. The initial cost is up to half of gas or electric mowers – plus the added bonus of not paying extra money on the electric bill or buying gasoline week after week. The lack of motor also means less money spent on maintenance. Fair warning – if you are a person who insists on a perfectly manicured lawn, you may not be satisfied with the cut that a reel mower provides. But for the rest of us who just want the grass to look respectable, the reel mower does the job. Since the only energy consumption involves human power, reel movers make good Earth cents. And they are
whisper quiet eliminating noise pollution as well. With gas prices averaging $4.00 per gallon we will be reeling in the savings all summer long!
